The course starts early so that we can see the goats being milked. Please arrive at Yellison Farm at 9.00am. (directions will be given when you book) Course fee includes all tuition and use of equipment. Please bring your own apron. A picnic lunch is provided and tea/coffee or cold drinks.

Yellison farm goats cheese is suitable for Vegetarians.

Goats Cheese Making Course

Course Description

The skill of cheese making has been in our culture for over a thousand years. The process of turning fresh milk into beautiful cheese is both natural and magical.

On the Goats Cheese Making Course you will see the whole process of making fresh goats cheese, from milking the goats to tasting the cheese.

During the day we will be introduced to the goats, learn how they are looked after and see them being milked. After milking we cross the farmyard to the creamery and our expert Steve will guide us through the process of making his award winning cheese. You will have hands on experience dealing with the milk curd, hanging it, salting it and lastly rolling it.

There will be a picnic lunch and cheese tasting and you will have some Goats cheese to take home.

The course is based at Yellison Farm, Nr Skipton - the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.

Yellison Farm Goats cheese is used by chefs including: Rick Stein, Nigel Howarth, and Micheal Caines. It was recently served to, amongst others, David Cameron at the Olympic banquet.
