We are expecting this to be one of our most popular courses of the year.
No previous experience is needed.

During this weekend, expert silversmith/ blacksmith Mark Constable will guide you through the processes of forging two different knife blades, putting handles on them and then using your new tools to carve your own spoon!

The course will cover the light forging process used to produce a blade. There will be a simple session on hardening and tempering the blade and then you can hone it into a working tool.  You will also be shown how to cut, shape and attach a wooden handle to your knives.

Before starting work on your first spoon we will cover basic green woodworking techniques and learn how to choose, cut and shape wood safely and efficiently.

The course will run from 6.00pm on Friday night until about 3.30pm on Sunday, all food is provided and special diets can be catered for if we are notified in advance.
The course is woodland based and you can sleep in one of our tipis or bring you own tent.  If camping is not for you then there is a range of good local accomodation available at extra cost (see links page for details).

Max 8 places per course.
